MESSAGE FROM

THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR OF MANITOBA November 2019

As the Queen’s representative in Manitoba, I am pleased to welcome the members and guests of the Manitoba Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (MAMRT) as you come together in celebration of your organization’s 90 years of professionalism and quality service to our health care system.

With a shared commitment to diagnostic excellence and professional development, two Winnipeggers established the very first organization of its kind in Canada. Their achievement paved the way for similar organizations across Canada that provide a stronger voice for medical radiation technologists, representing the interests of a group of medical professionals that are key players in the team approach that is so vital to quality health care.

MAMRT’s milestone anniversary underlines the organization’s important work in facilitating networking, sharing best practices and strengthening pride and care excellence among colleagues across the province.  The result is a stronger profession that certainly benefits its members, but also helps ensure quality health care for all Manitobans.

As you join in celebration, I wish you a memorable evening and continued success.

The Honourable Janice C. Filmon, C.M., O.M.

Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba

A Message from the Manitoba Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage

I am pleased to bring greetings to all current and former members, award winners and supporters of the Manitoba Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (MAMRT), as you gather to celebrate the organization’s 90th anniversary.

As MAMRT members, you have much to be proud of. When your organization was formed in Manitoba in 1929, it was the first of its kind in Canada and helped spawn the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. MAMRT is still the oldest remaining association of its kind in Canada.

Your work touches the lives of Manitobans every day, and you are essential members of Manitoba’s health-care team. We are thankful for the expertise and dedication that you bring to your work, and we applaud the work MAMRT is doing to advocate for the professional development of your members.

I extend congratulations to all of this year’s award winners and to everyone involved in staging this weekend’s events. I wish you a very happy anniversary and every success in the future.

Honourable Cathy Cox
Minister, Manitoba Sport, Culture and Heritage
